Watercolor Florals
in a Secret Garden

I've been quietly building something I'm so excited to share with you. A morning in nature — painting flowers, walking through redwoods, and making something beautiful together. I'd love for you to be one of the first.

The Experience

A morning I've been dreaming up for you

This is something I've wanted to share with the people I love for a long time. A slow, beautiful morning in nature — a chance to make something with your hands, breathe some fresh air, and leave with flowers and a painting you made yourself.

🌲
Walk through the redwoods
Your morning begins with a guided stroll through a peaceful grove — the perfect way to arrive at a slower pace and open your senses before you paint.
🌸
Pick your own flowers
Choose from a curated selection of seasonal blooms, arrange them into your own bouquet, and use it as your painting subject.
🎨
Guided watercolor session
A trained artist leads you through watercolor techniques — accessible for all skill levels. No experience needed, just curiosity.
🌿
Take it all home
Your finished watercolor canvas and your wrapped floral bouquet are yours to keep. A tangible memory of the morning.
The Day

Your morning, hour by hour

Every session runs from 9am to noon. Here's how the morning unfolds.

9:00
Gather at the Altamont Café
We meet at a beloved local café, get a warm drink, and ease into the morning together. This is the beginning of the experience — unhurried, warm, and social.
9:15
Redwood walk to the garden
A short guided walk through a peaceful redwood grove leads you to your private outdoor painting location — secluded, beautiful, and away from everything.
9:30
Arrival at the garden studio
Guests settle into the outdoor painting area, surrounded by trees, flowers, and birdsong. Supplies are laid out and waiting for you.
9:45
Flower selection & watercolor demo
Pick your flowers and arrange your bouquet. Your host guides you through approachable watercolor techniques — floral sketching, wet-on-wet layering, and more. All levels welcome.
10:00
Guided painting session
Ninety minutes of painting, with your host available for one-on-one coaching. All supplies are provided. This is the heart of the morning — meditative, expressive, and yours.
11:30
Sharing circle & farewells
Guests share their paintings, take photos in the garden, and wrap up their bouquets. A gentle end to a beautiful morning.
12:00
Walk back & suggested lunch
Return through the redwoods to the Altamont. Lunch in the neighborhood is highly recommended — the morning tends to leave people hungry and happy.

A note from me

Why I'm doing this

Community, creativity, and nature are my three great loves. I studied painting in Florence, built an artist community for years, and have spent a career making things — both with paint and pixels. Leading design at Goodreads keeps me close to creativity every day, but I've missed making art with the people I care about most.

This experience is my way of bringing those worlds together. I'd love for you to be part of the very first one.
